01 / TOPOLOGY
Tim Oliver Rabl
I keep the internet running for a small corner of Bavaria. Then I go home and build my own tools.
Systems, networks and automation at komro in Rosenheim. Rust CLIs and Next.js apps after hours.
02 / OPERATOR
The operator
I trained at komro from 2018 to 2021 and stayed. Today I do 2nd and 3rd level support for Linux and Windows, plus networking, routing and firewalls with Juniper and BGP at the core of it. I also code and script in Rust, Go, Python, Shell and PowerShell, and I run cloud work across AWS, Azure and GCP with Terraform, Terragrunt and Pulumi.
Outside work I build whatever I like, and quite often whatever annoyed me at work long enough that it needed fixing properly. Lately that means command line tools in Rust and web apps in Next.js and TypeScript, because I like the design side as much as the infrastructure side.
Since 2023 I am an AEVO certified trainer and since 2024 an IHK examiner. So I also sit on the other side of the apprenticeship table now.

Live from GitHub, filtered to what I actually maintain
bbmctl started in October 2023 on a road trip through Norway and Sweden. At the North Cape I had better mobile internet than at home in Bavaria. So I built the tool that measures what German ISPs actually deliver against what their contracts promise. First in Go, then rewritten in Rust.
